I tried my iBuffalo classic usb gamepad and it works. Only problem was I couldn't access any menus in RetroArch, the PS3 uses push down on both analogue sticks at the same time to enter the settings menu. maybe a bit of tinkering and trying to remap the keys to start and select might work.

I know keyboards work with PS3, so is it possible to have the SNES controller and a keyboard connected to access all functions in RA?

I haven't got a spare keyboard.

Using the SNES pad I could play the games, so I tried with the PS3 pad connected to the 2nd port to access the menu, didn't work. I think there is an option to allow all connected pads access to the settings menu, I'll just have to have a proper look through the options.

Another thing I noticed after trying to update was error messages, so I went back to the original .pkg file. Then I saw this.

I did. Either the missus or one of the kids ended up "needing to borrow" them and that's the last I saw of them...

8k a month does indeed sound nice, I'm hoping I can sell well enough to make it... You're not wrong, everything gets outsourced and it suckkkks.
