It's winter here so the Switch gets used a fair bit when they aren't at school.

I feel like that every summer. It only needs to be above 25c and I hate it, can't function properly in those conditions I like winter but obviously our winters here are very mild compared to what you get.
If I'm at home in summer and have the a/c running I'm ok, but work doesn't have a/c in the warehouse area (which is where I spend most of my time there).

Our winters are pretty mild here too. Well at least compared to the rest of Canada. Rarely drops much below 0.

We've got the ocean on one side and the Rocky Mountains to the North and in the east. Kind of all over the place actually lol. Makes for interesting weather.

Ah ok, might be similar winters to here where I am. It does sometimes drop below 0c overnight for a few odd days but the worst we get is light frost.
Snow is very rare, only lasts minutes really and then melts due to moisture. It's never cold and dry enough for it to snow properly unfortunately

Why is it so hard to get 5.1 surround drivers to work properly. I'm about ready to put my fist through a wall.

5.1 surround on your PC I guess? I see you mentioned drivers.

I've only ever used dedicated surround gear so idk.

Well that's what I'm using too but it's more that the audio manager program won't work so I can fiddle around with more specific speaker settings and such on that.
I must be missing something simple.
Bleh I give up for now.

Are there any better quality PATA to SATA adapters or is it all the same difference?

The little sata board kits you can get should work. You mod an original network adapter and still keep the network part that way.

But if you wanna keep your network adapter original just use a sata bridge adapter and a laptop HDD. I think a lot of people did for for some time before the kits were easy to get anyway.

The Chinese sata network adapters should be avoided. None have network it's removed entirely and they aren't even modified original adapters anyway.
