Yeah I suspect it's unlikely the US could be completely successful as world internet/piracy police.
They have tried being international democracy police (albeit with exceptions of convenience) and have pretty much failed...so much so in fact that they basically attracted terrorist acts, increased ridicule and have destabilised some countries.
Cracking down on domestic piracy over there is certainly more plausible and likely.
I mean in the past my country has been one that some people like to point the finger at for being full of pirates, but our population is pretty small and not many engage in piracy now (maybe more in the past but never anything ridiculous like 50% of the population anyway).
US vs Australia population is around 330 milliion vs 25 million.
The US would only need like 0.5% of the population doing it to have more than 1 million pirates, but I'm sure more there are millions more pirates in the US than Australia...probably more than most individual countries in fact (but not big places like China, India, Indonesia etc, but good luck wiping out piracy completely in those places).
American politicians always seem to like blaming other places for bad shit, when essentially even though other places are at fault there are serious domestic issues which don't help at all.
Like let's all keep the economy going because people have to work (no proper welfare and health care systems to help masses of people not working for months on end), also masks don't do shit...
Next thing you know there are millions dead and it's all China's fault

It has been a crazy week. Ugh. Just so ready for things to get abck to normal. Kiddo has his third birthday next week, we're going down to see my Grandma cause even though she doesn't want to admit it she's super lonely lately. Really hurts to see. So it'll be nice to see her. And we're about 99% for sure now getting the house when she passes cause my Aunt and Mom talked about my wife and I getting the house, paying for it, renting it, whatever, and she's all for that idea.So hyped.
