Speaking of 1950's...
There was an interesting ashtray that I found at work when sifting through donations.
I guess you could say it was racist black Americana sort of thing (?). African "bust" caricature, neck was hollow, lips/mouth sticking out forming a slight tube with hole. You sit the cigarette down at the base and the smoke rises up through the neck (it's like a chimney) and comes out the mouth
Had nice mix of colours in the glaze though, no chips or anything. Should be getting sent off to the ebay shop and might end up as an auction listing.
