Not a bad idea tbh. I wish I could do something like that. I get paid so little though it's hard for me to find anything like that.

Well for me I developed good working relationships with my boss and senior staff (I've had 2 different bosses there now).
I can also identify various things at a glance that most other people at work need to spend time researching... some antique furniture, fair amount of toys and also some other stuff.
I'm a little handy with tools and have done some light repairs to furniture.
If you become a valuable resource then people are more likely to give you a good deal on something
I get 20% off any marked price anyway and can put things on hold for like a month or so, depending on how large the item is.

I think I already mentioned it, but stuff is thrown away for various reasons.
It's possible to get a bunch of stuff for basically nothing...

Like with game consoles (and controllers) that aren't working; you can do some repairs, swap in working parts or at least salvage some good parts.
Games might not work; discs can be resurfaced and carts can be disassembled and cleaned (or repaired like replace cart shell).
Computers and PVR's that aren't fully functional; you can salvage hard drives.

No. M2 and micro sd are around the same size but not interchangeable.

If this is for PSP then you need to get micro sd to memory stick adapter.
You can get dual or single adapters, I recommend the dual type but it's up to you.
They were always inexpensive but I haven't bought one for years.

Ignore the prices, these are just some local sellers I looked up quickly basically to show you pictures and that they are still available...

    Single msd type:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/114229893196

    Dual type:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/322261368536

I have a few of the photofast dual types and have never had one die on me. If they don't have micro sd cards in them they can be a bit fragile though (empty slots are weak points).

M2 cards are rather expensive and harder to find compared to micro sd.
Although if you have Go model I believe you have no choice, you'll need to buy a largish M2 card.

do the dual slot adapters get read as individual cards when both slots are filled or do they get read as a whole card? say you have a 4gb card in slot A and a 16gb in slot B does it read as 4gb and 16gb or the total 20gb?

Dual adapters are formatted as a single card.
It's recommended to fill the adapter with matching pair of micro sd cards and just always use it as a single memory stick both in PSP console and card readers (for pc).

You probably can mix sizes but I have never done that myself. I think the main concern would be different performance of cards being mixed (even if rated the same they might not preform exactly the same), maybe that might cause problems.
As I said it's best to use matching pair in a dual adapter. No issues at all.

ah ok. a single will work just fine for me then. I already have 2 4gb m2s + adapters 1 2gb pro duo and a 4gb pro duo I just want to consolidate my games(psp on 1 card psx on another).

    Yeah single should be fine.

I have quite a few 32GB cards, most I got used from work. I've used some of them with my GDEMU setup but I always collect cards no matter what size.
The smaller capacity ones are handy for old GBA/DS flashcarts and the like.
