I definitely feel the heat and I hate it tbh. I do wear boxers a lot inside at home during the summer, but shorts just aren't practical if I'm doing stuff for so many reasons. Plus skin cancer rates are very high over here, I burn very easily.

I love cold weather but it doesn't really get cold here.

Very true, I also tend to forget that I'm one of those people who will burn in the moonlight, too.

Well until I get 'that big salaried job' that will move me away from this shit hole, it looks like I may be offered an Arcade Tech position. Not concrete, but it looks very likely.
It could be neat but it's not 'cool' games that I would be in charge of maintaining. It's stuff like ski-ball, crane games and various light gun/racing simulators. Kinda like a Dave and Buster's if you're familiar with them. It should be easy as hell considering my background. I'll probably start reading coding textbooks again if I can get a job like that.

Light gun and racing games are cool The other sports stuff sucks though.
When I was a bowling tech years ago I took care of a small bunch of arcade machines (mainly coin jams though), there was a gay as hell ski game there. But Crazy Taxi was there along with Dig Dug, Galaga and a few other old cabs (Rygar was there when I started but got swapped out iirc).

We have a coin-slot-arcade in town where there sweet cabs and pinball tables like that, but they aren't very common now-a-days. Frankly, they just suck now. One of the games they have at this job on a vertical screen and one button was flappy bird.
My brother just got back from the Philippines and he said the arcades he saw there are full of those idle tap android games and they were packed...

Yeah that was a long time ago, there aren't many classic cabs out in the wild here now. It was the best part of that job though, quiet nights like on Thursdays I'd go over to the arcade corner of the building and use the cabinet keys to play some games for a couple of hours...and get paid for it

The description of the plant and town is just so backwards and misleading. Like: "enjoy the quiet life without traffic where many forward thinking intellectuals in the tech world call home."
It's probably several times cheaper to operate where they do?

I wasn't actually asking why the company was located there, but why a company located there wants me. I don't play nice with conservatives.
I took the call though, just for the communication experience since that is my weakest point. Either way it didn't go well, the HR rep was difficult to speak with. She would ask a question and then talk over me when I would try to answer and leave large gaps of silence when I finished an answer. That 'wasn't' my fault.
Plus she called me 3 hours late even though I told them I was available at 11am 'EST'.

Not 100% sure to be honest. All I know is that it's a "30 Minute Mission" set. And it didn't even take that long to build. Fun build though. Going to be painting him later today and looking forward to the results.
