    Yip even works in IE.

Hey you've got the Chrono Trigger / FF Origins disk. Would you mind chucking me an FTP account so I can download? It'll take forever as I'm on 56k though.

The upload speed will be 56k, the speed limit is forced to the use lowest connection speed, so your freind will be uploading at your 56k speed

I have a problem with my FTP, I'm using GuildFTP, heres my problem. When i set my emulation folder as the root directory, when i test it out it always has My Documents, so it has these folders in
    Rom's
    Emu's
    My Documents
Even though I only want the Emu's and Rom's folder in, any help?

    EDIT: Sorted it

How often is emuparadise's ftp server online? I asked this because every time i try to connect i get the error message, "Connection timeout. No response from server." I want to know when it's online so that i know when i'm supposed to connect and download. Thanks

The ip my router gives me is 192.168.1.101, but I looked at myipaddress.com and it said it was 216.148.246.134 . Do I have to configure the router on both cpus or can I configure 1 only?

I dont have administrative access to the other cpu so that is why I need to configure this one that im on.

216.*.* is your real one. The other is the ip of your router. 192 is an internal network address.

The router can be accessed from either PC, but the it has only 1 set of settings so it doesn't matter on which PC you configure the router, the other PC will have the same settings.

Just click the link. Or right click and select "copy shortcut" open up your ftp app and it will say "ftp url detected, open?" and select yes.

I have been able to connect to ftp's in the past but lately, I haven't been able to access that last few that I have tried. I am behind a linksys and using smart ftp. I tried putting the IP of a the computer trying to access the FTP's in the DMZ thing but that didn't change anything. It's annoying that I haven't been able to access any FTP's lately since I have been able to in the past. There is one ftp I have been able to access lately. But a few that I haven't.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Settings to try and such.

EDIT: BTW, the message I am getting from the ftp I am trying to connect to right now is "connection timeout. no response from server." Does that tell which end the problem is at? I hope this helps.

EDIT again: I've tried accessing another FTP with the same results as I listed above. I am thinking there is something screwy at my end not letting me into most FTPs. It makes me wonder what is different about the FTP that I get into with no problem but I think that one might just be special. In addition to trying the DMZ thing, I have also tried both active and passive modes in smart FTP. It hasn't made any difference either. I am not sure what I need to try next. Maybe some port forwarding? I know I had to do that to get Emule to work right. If anyone has any ideas that would be great. Five votes go to people that offer advice that fixes my problem.

right, I have a router (not important what model) and a home network (my pc gets the internal ip 192.168.1.247). I have tryed to get virtual server to foward requests for port 21 tcp and udp to my pc using its ip address.
Buuut, when I host an FTP using BPFTP server, I can only connect to it from local machines and nobody can get it over the WAN(internet) do I need more than just port 21?

at the moment the user/password bullsh*t doesnt matter, I can deal with that. and even if someone from outside tryed connecting with the wrong password, then the server would show it in the log. But I dont get any connection yet.

    Help ... please!

edit: Im using win2k (so no internal crappy firewall software) and I havnt got and software firewall installed.

edit 2!: oops I forgot to mention, I do know my WAN ip adress! and that IS the one I have been testing without sucess.
