Default Resident Evil 3: Nemesis not running on epsxe170 emulator

I have tried running other games on the epsxe170 emulator and it all worked except for Resident Evil 3: Nemesis which hangs after the opening FMV sequence finishes. I have tried using different copies downloaded from different websites and they all return the same error, what is causing this problem?

Apparently Resident Evil 3 Nemesis (SLUS-00923) runs ok on epsxe v2.0.
The information I copied from psxdatacenter is just relevant emu settings.

Also, the redump page has crc/md5 etc so you can check if the dump you have is ok.

So it cannot run on version 1.7.0?

I don't know personally, but iirc yes it's reasonably common for some psx games to not work properly on older versions of epsxe, and some games won't work properly on newer versions.
I play playstation games on consoles, not pc.

Enable subchannel data in the cdrom settings - also update to a newer version of epsxe.

I tried changing all of the settings in epsxe2.0.0 to the correct settings and downloaded all of the dump files from redump.org but the game still would not run.

So I tried running the game in a different emulator called Pcsxr-r72232 and the game runs, but black lines appear on the screen. What settings should I change to eliminate these errors?

I have fixed the problem of black lines appearing on the screen of the game when using the PCSXR emulator by switching to the Soft Driver 1.17 graphics plugin but the resolution of the game is lower when this plugin is used, how can this problem be fixed?
