Thread: Requests Forum?

    slayer6896 Guest

    Default Requests Forum?

The requirements for the forum are that you have to have 150 posts, but what about the people that dont have much to post about and may have been around for awhile? What about the slow posters, is it not possible for someone to have been here for over a year or so and still not meet that requirement?

Just wonderin as it would kind of be unfair to the people that dont have much to talk about. Seeing as someone could just post alot and get the the 150 post limit and someone could be here for a long time and still not get in.

I actaully thought 150 was overly generous..... anyway, if you lurk, you arent contributing to the forum so thus you dont get certain things back from it. Tis a fair system (Ive been a lurker for a while..... I had only about 40 posts 2months ago)

    Yes.
A person may work at a company for 40 years and not get to be CEO because they didn't contribute much to the company, but another person may work there for 5 years but did a lot of overtime and sacrificed for the company so he would get to be CEO.
Do you understand what I am saying.

the 150 post is still pretty generous. its meant 2 prevent leechers, but now that the 3 week membership isn't required anymore, they can just post spam 2 get the 150.

I agree, to get into the Requests forum you are expected to be an active member of the forums, not simply a 'lurker'...

You should up it so you also need several good votes to get in too.... that would prevent spamming as theyd have to actually make some good posts to get votes? Maybe

No, acess to Requests shouldn't be determined by votes. The vote hack is just sort of a fun addition: Its not meant to be taken seriously. Besides, people could create loads of alternate accounts and give someone bad votes in spite, or give themselves good votes, so it isn't reliable.

Well.. in my opinion, I don't see how you couldn't have over 150 posts if you've been here at EP for a long time and have been a contributing member. If you've been registered for over a year and don't have over 150 posts.. well.. there's no excuse for that, even if you are slow at posting. You could've posted 1 post per day and still have over 150 posts.

This is quite funny becasue you could have gotten at least 2 more post, if you had replyed to what people say... you can post more then once in a thread...

Its not that I lurk, there just inst anything that intrests me enough to post.

Having a post limit on a forum is pretty stupid. Wow look at me I am going to spam and get to 150 posts so I can leech. I rather not post on something that I dont really care about.

Still, people that have been around for awhile but dont have much to say as there is nothing that interests them should be able to get access to a forum that someone can get access to in under a week. A high post count does not mean they contribute, helping people and providing information should be considered contributing not just posting for postings sake.

I personally have no need to have access to the requests forum. I have every rom and iso I could want.

    GundamGuy, no really!?!
I wasnt here to post so it would be pretty hard to post when I aint here.

If you're not 'interested' enough to consider posting then why on Earth should we consider giving you access to it? I'm sorry, but what you've said essentially rang clear in my head as 'I don't care about the forums', hence how are you any different from the random leechers who just demand ROMs? They're not willing to give anything back and neither are you, so if we don't give them access, why should we grant it to you? And it may AMAZE you to realise that there are people who don't spam and break the 150 post mark, it's not as impossible as you seem to set it....

If there is nothing that interests you.. then why are you here...? we have somthing for every one... Not interested in games(General Gaming).. they why come to an Emulation board.. Not interested in Trouble shooting emulators..or dont have any problems..(Everything Emulation) again then why bother joining an Emulation fourm... do you watch movies (The Movie Zone) or watch sports (The Sports Center)..or lisen to Music (The Music Zone)... Then what are you Interested in???

And dont worry nobody is going to spam 150 post and get away with it...

    :Edit..Just a little slow...

Slayer, it's actually not as hard as you might think. I've only been registered at the forums for a couple weeks now, and I have 98 posts (including this one.) And I didn't spam to get them. I participated in topics, made a few of my own, and just had fun. I didn't just sit there and go, "Oh god how am i gunna get 150 posts oh god oh my that's so hard."
I must admit though, I felt the same way as you at first, but now I don't really care because this forum is frickin awesome, and loads of fun. As I believe it was Gundam Guy said, there's something for everyone.
Evil Ryu, good point. If you don't care, why did you post this?

same here i havent been here that long and look how many posts i got.this is my opinion on the requirement, i think that the 150 posts requirment for the request forum is gud because it gets ppl to post more often so that they can actually get into the reqeusts forum.150 post req = more posts bein made = more ppl bein helped = happy members, but this isnt always the case.spammers.
