Just buy a long HDMI cable and hook your PC up to your TV. Then you can launch Steam on your PC and push the game over to your TV. Windows+Steam will use an Xbone controller just fine, and run basically all the PS4/5/Xbone games. (I did this a while ago, and don't play it at all!)

I still prefer consoles that you just slap a cart in and play, but all the multiplats on consoles nowadays basically make modern consoles obsolete. Except the Switch of course Nintendo, actually making exclusive proprietary games, what a shocking new idea!
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Something that works is to engage a goal or goals for it , not just arriving at certain conditions and call it a day. For example fighting games are really getting big with the online mods of emulatos like Fightcade and others, how about battle royal or even racing games (but i am talking about really learning the techniques and theory to play semi-simulation, full simulation games even acquiring a wheel). In short you have to commit and form a protocol to improve in your hobbies not just videogames, this happened to me too even at Djing, Beatmaking, Listening to certain genres which i needed to explore more indie stuff of the same atmosphere of genres, and so on.

It may not entirely be an age issue, but i understand that while you grow up a pain in the knee becomes 20 things to do in the week plus meds to buy and on top of that the ordinary usual shit at home.

But trust me it is something that happen when you enter a no way out street, no matter the age.

I have a TV/Monitor combo. It functions as both a TV and a monitor. It supports HDMI, VGA and of course has a coax jack for antennas or cable. I actually got reception using a old NES RF Switch for some TV channels.

That's cool! If I had more room for gaming stuff, I'd totally do the same. A friend of mine with whom I used to talk on Instagram has arranged something similar. She put everything on a huge pink shelf and that was the actual gamer girls paradise.

If I had more room I'd like to reorganize my game room. I'm sure you've probably seen that pic online that shows a bunch of consoles behind glass cases in a shelf with a TV on top. That would be nice to have.

I have most of my games & consoles packed away in boxes of various types.
Quite a few are large plastic storage tubs with lid and handles but also reinforced cardboard storage boxes plus some "liberated" milk crates (old school lol).
I have heaps of stuff. One entire room of my house is getting close to full now, sometimes to dig out certain things I need to move heaps of stacked boxes/tubs
I have a 32" Sony Trinitron crt tv as well, those things aren't small

I don't just have gaming stuff though... also some Star Wars related toys, a few large boxes of vintage Lego and Meccano. A very small collection of loose Matchbox, Hot Wheels vehicles but also some Dinky military. Most of those vehicles, some of the Star Wars stuff and a few other items I have in the kitchen. Inside wall mounted shelves (2) with glass sliding panels (4).

    Spoiler warning:

Speaking of getting old, I sometimes have to set the camera movement to a slower speed otherwise I get dizzy.

Yeah, me too, however it depends on where I play, it's first person games on pc that you control with a mouse that usually make me feel like that.

Lately I've also been having issues with the brightness of the screen, had to set it at its lowest on my pc.

I've also had some issues with screen brightness as well. Just like the title says, getting old does suck.

I know, right? Hilarious that I used to think the Game Boy was no more playable because its screen is not backlit and now I'm almost getting there.

I wonder what happened to the OP. He hasn't posted anything since May of 2019. Hopefully he's doing fine.
