Ragnar - RetroArch could not detect the rom you sent me. I checked the internal rom info of yours and the one I patched, and everything matched perfectly. RetroArch detects the original unpatched rom. Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon is not the only rom I'm having trouble w/, others like Alcahest and Clock Tower are not working.

I was able to patch La no Place (Japan).sfc, which is labeled as SFC on the translation page, and RetroArch detects it. The games listed on romhacking.net as SMC are giving me problems, but the ones listed as SFC are working just fine.

I'm having no problems patching the roms with Lunar IPS and Tush is adding/removing the headers just fine. I'm really at a lost as to why this is not working.

I've been chatting with the romhacking folks and the reason why the games are not be detected is the checksum must be a certain way to work in RetroArch. All the unpatched games are detected but when you add the patch the checksum changes, which does not match in RetroArch.

If anyone has gotten all the English snes patches to work in RetroArch w/ the Snes9X let me know. Looks like I was patching everything correctly and the best way to play them is on standalone emulators.

I would let to thank everyone again who tried to help. I really appreciate it.

Checksum dont matter ROM above is fine

All the unpatched games are detected but when you add the patch the checksum changes, which does not match in RetroArch... And what is it supposed to be in RetroArch? RetroArch database that are associated with the Snes9x core https://github.com/libretro/libretro...t%20System.rdb Retroarch uses rdb files to store rom info, included checksums, which it seems can only be edited as dat’s and then compiled into rdb’s. https://github.com/libretro/RetroArc...g-the-database

I figured it out. Here is what you do to get patched games working in RetroArch w/ the Snes9x core.

    1) Add the unpatched clean rom to RetroArch
    2) Rename the IPS download you got from romhacking to match the rom name (ex. Clock Tower (Japan).ips, Clock Tower (Japan).sfc Make sure they are in the same folder.
    3) Apply the patch.
    4) Now run the game in RetroArch

I was able to play all english translation patches this way but I'm still adding/checking more out (fingers crossed they all work). This thread certainly changed from asking about file extension to getting patches to work in RetroArch lol

Are you loading the core first and then trying a directory scan?

If all else fails there's a batch script on reddit that you could try (it's a few years old though), it will add roms that the RA scan feature doesn't add (because of CRC mismatch).
If you can't find it PM me for the link.

    Spoiler warning:

You can open the playlists in notepad and manually add some games. RetroArch Playlist Buddy is a Windows-based tool that can be used to create playlists for any platform where RetroArch is available https://forums.libretro.com/t/retroa...ation-app/8417 The Retroarch scanner uses theses Databases for scanning https://docs.libretro.com/guides/rom...ts-thumbnails/ go to the Sources section. Ideally you are supposed to use the roms coming from those DB and Retroarch will pick them up immediately.https://docs.libretro.com/guides/rom...st-file-format

2 types of patching hard/soft <--that might be wrong lol hard patching take ips patch game ..game ROM is permanently patched .. soft patching change name of IPS an ROM to same name when play in emu automatically patched game ROM stays as original... now take ROM try in like ZSNES i bet wont work cuz thats what i think you did soft patching but guess dont matter as long as works lol Nice job on getting it working next will teach how make real cart Auto Patching with Snes9x https://fantasyanime.com/patching#auto-patching

deadlegion - Yeah, I loading the core first and then scanned the directory. All the No-Intro unpatched roms were detected

Hard patching the rom before scanning was giving me the problems. Soft patching works and I have not experienced any issues adding a clean unpatched rom to the directory and then applying the translation.

Thanks for the links and help again!
