Default is it possible to modify ps3 save files?

I have been thinking about this for the last couple nights.
is it possible to modify a ps3 save file? would it have to be done with a hex editor? is a modified save file usable on a non-cfw console?

Saves are signed so idk if this is possible on OFW Maybe it depends what you intend to do, if you want to hack trophies I think a database rebuild is required.
Aldostools has a bruteforce save data tool (think it can use game genie cheats), and there are probably some other tools that are game specific (like GTA V maybe).

Modding saves never really interested me tbh, but I seem to recall seeing something about modding saves to add inventory items to Skyrim or another Bethesda game like that.
Came across it when I was investigating adding mods to TES/Fallout games on PS3 before I had CFW (I was using 4.70 OFW backup injection exploit).

    Edit:
Found a save resigner that might work, not really sure if it'll work on current OFW though (you can only test I guess, I can't atm as the only PS3 I have set up right now is my CFW). Think it only lets you use cheats but I'll upload and post tonight at some point.

I was mostly wanting to mess with my GT 5 save so I could get the A-spec races marked as complete(and get the rewards from it).
I have ps3 tools that has a brute force save tool but when clicking on it it doesn't launch anything.

You might need .net framework and possibly vb5. I know some of the tools require some extra stuff but I installed it on my desktop over a year ago now.

yeah was missing the vb5 brute force tool works but it's not what I needed it looks like hex editing is the solution but without know what the values are of what I want to modify I'm out of luck.

Did you look at the resigner I posted? It says in the info it can resign saves to any region and any account. See if you can find a save that unlocks everything and resign it to your account.

already tried finding one all I found was some for the prologue edition I also don't really want to go that route as I'd lose all my cars and custom made tracks.

Is there a trophy for clearing the A-spec races?

there's a trophy for winning each league and it's part of another trophy.

I'd be wary of anything that will trigger earning a trophy earlier than possible, you could get flagged. Get flagged on 3 or so games and you get kicked from leaderboards iirc.
Probably not as risky as trying to use CFW online of course.

gonna mess around with hex editing soon. gonna take an old backup save and a new one compare them with the hex editor see if I can find the lines for races and their values.
