    Default Burning PS2 software

have had success burning ps2 software with imageburn in the past but seem to be encountering the same issues with sega ages series ...namely panzer dragoon, phantasy star generations 1 and 2

i go to burn the cue file on all 3 and get this message

"your image doesn't appear to be the correct format for burning on to a DVD"

    "image format: MODE 2/FORM1/2352"

    "DVD format: MODE 1/2048"

panzer dragoon is the standard version whilst PSG1&2 are the translated verions,

    any help would be appreciated

Don't know about Panzer Dragoon, but glancing at the boxart for Phantasy Star Generations I see a Compact Disc icon. I assume the ISOs you have on hand are small, right? They're probably all CD games.
I don't know how you're playing your burnt games, but if you're using a real PS2 with FMCB and ESR, that won't work with CD games.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

I have a modded PS2 (Matrix) that runs burnt DVD successfully from imageburn.

I have same issue with all Sega Ages software.

I read that the patched versions of generations 1 and 2 can be burned and played on a modded ps2.

Are Sega Ages series awkward to make as sure I had this problem with Fantasy Zone and Wonder Boy collection too...

If they are CD based games you cannot just burn them to DVD. They won't work that way even on a chipped PS2.
If they are CD burn them to CD and see if they boot. Matrix Infinity (also clones and other modchips) should boot copied CD PS2 games if they are on CD-R.

    Note:
If you have issues trying to play copied games please remember that it could be the media you are trying to use, plenty of so called "good" brands (including Verbatim) can actually use media sourced from questionable quality manufacturers eg CMC, Moser Baer.

Wow - I had no idea it had to be burnt to CD not DVD...

I will try to burn them to CD and hit you up with the results.

    Hopefully that's the reason.

Thanks for your help by the way!

mode 2 form 1 is a cd format used for all ps1 games and probably all ps2 cd games.
    ps2 dvds use UDF/ISO format.

cd games can be converted to dvd easily most of them using ultraISO. But, they don't always work. Usually though. I recommend it since the noise from the cd's (they spin really fast) irritates me. But if not irritate you then I'd say dont do it.

anyways its extremely easy to do but it appears, the information has disappeared from the net! ugh

so what you do is this:
    download ultraISO portable from portableapps.
    open your cd game ISO.
select file at the top then properties.
    change media to 4.7(4.37)gb.
check the box that says UDF.
click set as default at bottom.
save the image as a ISO.
    burn it.
