So a youtuber I like named Hbomberguy decided to do a stream where he tries to 101% DK64 to raise money for a trans kids charity because a knob washed up comedy writer tried to get them completely defunded through false reports via mob.

In he past 50 hours, the following things have happened.

-Former Rare and current Playtonic composer Grant Kirkhope appeared in call and said "Trans Rights" in the voice of Donkey Kong
-John Romero popped by for awhile and also said trans rights
-Chelsea Manning (!?!?) showed up in call and is still in chat with John Romero
-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, AN ACTUAL US HOUSE REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE STATE OF NEW YORK, APPEARED IN CALL AND TALKED ABOUT POLICY WHILE HBOMBERGUY ASKED HER IF SHE KNEW HOW TO TURN ON THE POWER PLANT AND SHE SAID SHE ADMITS SHE'S MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH POKEMON SNAP
-THERE'S A TRENDING TAG ON TWITTER DEDICATED ENTIRELY TO DUNKING ON GRAHAM LINEHAM, WASHED UP COMEDY WRITER AND MASSIVE TRANSPHOBE, CONSTANTLY REMINDING HIM THAT HE INSPIRED A VIDEO GAME STREAM THAT HAS CURRENTLY RAISED NEARLY $250,000 FOR TRANS CHILDREN AND IS *STILL* GOING FOR A VERY LONG TIME

My favorite part of all this is that the stream's trending on twitter is drawing people's attention to the transcrowdfund tag, which is sparking a flood of donations to a lot of struggling transpeople directly, all while Mermaids (the charity) went on stream to inform that even if they don't get the national lottery funds, the funds being raised by the stream will keep a ton of their projects going (heck, they've raised more so far then the national lottery amount).

A guy mostly known for dunking on Sherlock in a two hour video has managed to do so much good for thousands of people just by playing Donkey Kong 64 and I've never felt so good about the human race as I have this whole weekend.

Kinda, yeah. Iv'e never played othello, so I had to look it up. But there is a massive similarity. But it looks like the point of othello is to fill the board, but in Go the pieces are removed when captured.

There's probably a lot of Go anime but I bet you're thinking of Hikari no Go, which was made by the Death Note guys of all people. It had a really long Shonen Jump run and a really long anime and also there was a ghost that really loved Go.

From Death Note, to a story about to middle school kids (at the start) and their journey to become a manga artist duo, heavy on slice of life & romance, with really good insight into all the work it takes to make a manga. And the small jab they put in towards the end, at being forced to continue a manga they wanted to end for the sake of the publishing company (Death Note ).

Makes me wish those two kind of weren't shit in their politics. Bakuman bugged me for the sexist undercurrent in it, which was present in Death Note but not to such a blatant degree, and the whole series also had some Objectivist underpinnings I'm never really down with (though at least it never went as far as Mahouka having an entire early series speech saying that every bad thing that happens to poor and marginalized people is their own fault HOLY SHIT).

They seem to be getting worse the more they make. They actually have some sort of battle manga about angels of something running and I haven't seen any western fanbase around it. Guess their clout has started to dwindle in the 2010s.
