Doctor Poo!
Saw the trailer for Bumblebee. Doesn't look all that bad actually.
It's actually not a grindy game. Most of your stats come from items, not leveling up. It rewards using strategy. If you just do regular attacks w/o thinking you will die in regular fights let alone bosses. If you don't like this kind of gameplay, then it's not a game for you. I loved every minute of it. I wouldn't want to play the same kind of game back to back though, especially since w/e I picked next probably wouldn't be on the same level for quality gameplay. I like a wide variety of genres and enjoy changing it up.
BotW, Mario Odyssey, Octopath Traveler. A mainline Fire Emblem game is coming next year. Yes, it is time. That's not even mentioning multi-plats which are convenient on Switch (won't perform the best obvs) but I'm guessing you already have a PC/PS4 etc... I'm waiting for DQ 11 on Switch.
Gypsy you better text me how to make Octupus Traveler not grindy because Corey and I found ourselves grinding and got frustrated as much as we liked it.
Switch is still too expensive here. You can basically buy two xbone S 1TB consoles if they're on sale for the same price.

Kept having this image of a game featuring an Octorock and then I googled the game

So it depends on your definition of course, but I never really stopped in an area to purposefully do extra fights until the very end for the true final boss to take the edge off that fight a bit. I probably could have avoided doing that tbh, as I ended up having to shift my strategy to beat that fight anyway. It's a two part fight where you use all 8 characters (4, then the other 4) so you really have to learn the fight to know what you want for each half. Honestly, I'd recommend looking online for a guide instead of bashing your head at it and adjusting like I did. I would bet people have posted good strategies for it. I beat the main game w/o doing what I would consider grinding for a second. How far in are you? Money can be a bit scarce early on, it helps to steal. But once money isn't an issue, make sure to upgrade your equipment whenever possible, it's most of your stats. The best equipment is hidden behind quests or steal-able/buyable from random npcs. Which...can be a bit frustrating. Always check every NPC you run into for this purpose. There are two sets of equipment that unlock at different points in the game from npcs and the game really doesn't give you a good indicator, again kind of frustrating but you don't technically need it. Other than that, make sure you are analyzing every enemy. I loved having Cyrus in my party frequently for the free analyze on all enemies at the start of the fight. Then you just want to make sure you exploit enemy weaknesses and daze them. Hit up all the job shrines and then balance your party with secondary jobs so that you always have at least two of any weapon attack type available at all times. Once you do this it's pretty easy to stun and wallop enemies. The better elemental spells that hit 2 and 3x are a huge help here as well.
Yikes. They are close to the same price here.
Oh and if you want to do that true final boss, you will absolutely need the 4 special classes (Runelord, Sorcerer, Warmaster and Starseer). I can't imagine doing that fight w/o those classes available. Warmaster is essential for the first half of the fight. Starseer is critical for the 2nd half. Runelord on Tressa = party wide sidestep.
I went baaaalls deep with this game lol.
$250 for the S 1TB if you're patient and find a good deal. Prices for that have been competitive for over a year now.
Switch if you look around you can get one for like $450 but that's only very recently.
lol ninty home consoles haven't been cheap here since the days of the Wii.
Actually both Japanese brands are more stubborn with prices than M$. The only exception is the xbone X, but even that had a few ok deals recently (RDR2 release) that made the pro seem ridiculously priced...it was like around $50 (maybe a little less than that) more than the same PS4 slim bundle iirc.
