You can use recovery mode attached to a PC or not, so I believe.
Updating via wifi is usually how things go wrong for most people regardless of device. Interference is a bitch.

Still won't go past the splash screen. Been sitting there for a couple of hours now. Have to see if there's some sort of magic button press like vol up and power or something to enter recovery.

Yeah think that's what happened to me.

The button combo to access recovery is probably device specific so look it up. You should be able to update via PC connection.

Welp nothings worked. All system files show as corrupted. I found the OS though for that exact model tablet and can install from the SD card in the root menu. Only problem is getting it onto the sd card in the first place. Someone in the building must have a card reader in their laptop or PC. I sure as hell don't.

Do you have a phone? Use the sd card slot in that.

No this is the only portable device I have. Good idea though - I can grab my neighbours phone probably and connect to the old comp and copy it over.

Actually one of my neighbours has a little usb adapter that holds a microsd in it on the other end. Neat. Copying now.
