I had recently replaced the batteries for Gold, Silver, and Crystal, and I had two copies of Gold. Anyway, I tried to use the melted pen cap trick to get the screw off again, but a bit of the pen sealed the screw, so I stupidly used a lighter to try and melt the pen piece, only to melt the back of the game cover...so I slammed the game onto my floor and broke it open, and replaced everything. Luckily, my current Gold copy gave me no trouble as far as opening up with the pen goes.

Except now that broken copy of Gold is no longer sellable due to a damaged outer shell, so I threw it away. Why didn't I use a gamebit screwdriver? Because for some reason, I'm having trouble finding one in stores, and I can't shop online for one because I don't have money at the moment. I was going to gather some game copies to sell, including Pokemon Gold, but there's no way I can sell it now.

Edit: Is it worth keeping the extra circuit board as a possible 'just in case' replacement? Or should I just throw it away, too?
You can find the gamebit on ebay, dirt cheap. Also aliexpress.
You can also get replacement generic cases, so reshell your cart and sell it. Or just keep it.

It also seems to prevent quoting the first post, and editing it too. I'm gonna call these features. Also, I don't see the alien smiley on the emoji list
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

I don't think it'd be unsellable. Use a knife to trim down anything from preventing it from fitting and just sell it. It just has to work.

    It's a unicode emoji. https://emojipedia.org/extraterrestrial-alien/

I woke up with a badly bruised left arm, which is odd. Going to upload Saturn ISOs today.

Just said I have no money to purchase another. I'm only making enough from SSI to cover living expenses for a while. Can't shop online until I get a job.

I'll have to get a new Gold shell because...well...

Yeah...I have a weird way of getting things done. I took that pic because I was telling a friend about that on another board, and I wanted to show proof. lol! And yes, I was too lazy to set the date on my camera (my phone's memory is too full for pics)

Jesus. I can understand what you did at the back screw, and that could've been flattened off, it'd look horrible but be functional. But everything else... Why did you try to burn that top corner?

It was a wild night, one thing led to another...last thing I remember is trying to smoke a pokemon cart.

Have you ever broken a controller in frustration?

No but I once took a blowtorch to a pokemon cart.
