Clumsy me knocked over a whole bottle of Vitamin Water into the keyboard, and I guess I fried the motherboard, because the screen's backlight would turn on, but nothing else; no bootscreen, not even my keyboard light. I'm almost certain it's busted beyond repair, which is why I'm hoping everything's still on the hard drive and hoping that alone could be salvaged, if nothing else.

Frying the motherboard is pretty bad if that's case. It is sometimes possible to reflow motherboards, but not usually worth the effort. If the laptop is unfixiable, getting the hard-drive and data from it should be easy as long as the hard-drive is still in working condition.

I'm sure it still is in working condition. I'm really hoping the laptop itself can be saved, because the sad thing is, it was an expensive laptop: a gaming laptop, and saving up for it took a long time, and that was with a well paying job. I got laid off almost two years ago, in July (contract changed and everyone got laid off), and currently on temporary SSI (finding a job is hard for me due to personal reasons), so if it turns out the laptop really is unfixable, saving up for another gaming PC is going to be a huge pain in the ass...but I'm gonna try if all else fails.

That really sucks. I hope it can be saved as well. I built myself a gaming PC a few years ago. I saved up while I was working as a delivery driver. I also have a hard time finding a job due to personal reasons as well. I currently work online. It really sucks that RAM is still super expensive.
