That new walking dead game looks pretty crazy. Can see it in the Xbox store for preorder - 110gb!!!
Suppose I could have moved a couple of things - for the most part though most of my physical games weren't installed in the first place. Was fucking around with some of the digital online stuff lately. Deleted the few of those I had - seemed easier to just queue everything up for download and just let it go overnight for those.
Anyhow everything was done by morning. I played a bit of FF15 last night to see how it performed - I dare say the load times were ever so slightly quicker.
Sometimes it might be difficult to notice but Morrowind and both Fallouts are definitely better. Haven't tested Oblivion yet but I assume it's the same.
Spoiler warning:
You have an external drive for your Xbox? Or do you mean previous systems in general? Except for that huge freezing issue I had with Fallout 3 when leaving the vault it definitely ran better. Like view distance and load times.
I picked FF15 (RDR2 is still on the internal) to test because it's one of my huge games and was worried when using an external that things might stutter from time to time but the opposite happened. Maybe this particular drive is just faster or it's not also running the os at the same time or something? I dunno. Anyhow I'm very pleased so far.

Yeah I've got a powered seagate external. Morrowind load times, saving and transitions to new areas are faster.
Yeah mostly it's because your internal drive is basically dedicated to OS now, but usb 3.0 is part of it.
Think I read somewhere that if you have an internal ss or hybrid the differences aren't noticeable, but upgrading the internal isn't as easy as say PS3...plus externals are cheap and you can use more than one (use what you have now and add another later instead of installing everything again to a larger drive).

Also gonna have more pics of Federation starships named after different candy and desserts soon
