See I had almost the opposite experience, I played the first game heavily and then in each successive release I found myself more and more fatigued by the franchise.

Interesting, I found to like the class abilities much better in Borderlands 2 than in 1, not having a minimap and just the compass in Borderlands was so damn awful, and just liked the story overall much better.
I can definitely see the fatigue argument though, like I've played enough of Borderlands 2, that the humor is gone for me.

I had my gas pumped for me the first time in my life. I pull into a gas station in Oregon and some dude opens up my tank and Im about to jump out with my bat until I rememerb that some states are just backwards.

Corey and I heard about some state recently getting rid of full service at gas stations and everyone afterward being super retarded and not knowing how to pump their own gas. We were confused and learned about the weird states. I've never been to one that still does that.

Oh don't get me wrong, the 2nd game makes a slew of obvious improvements to the 1st game, I think you're right to like the 2nd game more. I played through both extensively, but when the pre-sequel came out I found myself unable to really get into it. Can't say that I played it for more than 3 hours.
