Not sure if anyone pays attention to retro achievements or not, but they've added arcade and will soon be adding PS1 cheevos to their site. Within about next week.

Spoiler warning:
Finally got my new internet modem hooked up this morning, though it took a while to get it running. Worked in a wall outlet since 2016, my old one did... Lesson learned: unplug everything during a storm or use surge protectors! Why I didn't have my modem in a surge protector before is beyond me.

Wow, something blew on you? I know 20 years ago I used to unplug everything when a storm rolled around, now I just don't even notice. I guess most stuff is plugged into surge protectors, just cause that's what I buy when I want a splitter. But there are certainly a bunch of things not protected...

Yep. Bad storm, too. Left us without power for about 5 days due to a blown up transformer, and even longer without internet until I finally got a hold of my service provider the other day for a possible replacement. I got the modem in a surge protector now, but I'll still unplug my PC and all to be on the safe side.
Storms can be fun, but they can suck when they make the power go out. I guess it depends on the type of storm.
It rained here. Its nice when it has been dry for a long time. Also, retro achievements has finally added PSX for achievements.

Nintendo is certainly coming down hard on pirates now. I can understand them taking legal action with stuff still being sold, but I think they're going overboard with old games like NES and SNES and emulation in general.
Why, after so many years, are roms becoming such an issue with Nintendo anyway? I understand copyright and all that crap (though it's not gonna stop me from finding and playing roms) but why did it take them so long to do anything about it? What are they afraid of now?

If I recall correctly, you can't even really rent games in Japan, due to Nintendo. Of course these days renting games is pretty much a voided point. Just pointing it out. Seems like Nintendo was trying to prevent any second-hand market for their games. I think the real irony is when people want Nintendo to die, despite the fact they like playing Nintendo games. I guess its ironic and funny at the same time when it comes to that.
Nintendo has always been hell-bent on stopping any piracy of their games. That's not to say Sony and Microsoft have also tried to stop piracy of their games as well.
I don't see anything wrong with emulation. I think its the best and pretty much the only way to preserve gaming, well at least being able to play old games in some capacities.
Still I hope one day EP might be able to bring back roms, but its not looking likely.
Will this thread last for a whole year?
