    Default i have a login/register related question

why is the reset/recover lost password under the login section? i just had to go and use my email address and fail the register process to get that option to appear which is completely unacceptable.

the password recovery link should be down below the "remember me" box in the login popup/screen. you shouldn't have to try and fail to register a new account just to redo your password.

stupid darn... need to get my old laptop to a repair shop so i can get all my stuff transferred to this desktop (yes, at long last, i FINALLY got a new desktop to replace that crappy laptop.).

That's a fair point. I've added a Reset your password link to the login form on the default theme.
