You know, it doesn't seem like the best practice to send out plaintext permanent passwords in email, if we're worried about MitM attacks. Better to make the user manually reset the password or only send out a one-use password.

That's a good point and that's why we recommend that the user change his password after they get a new one by email.

if you follow the switch hacking forum on gbatemp you'd see that failoverflow has a method that was released yesterday or monday. the scene exploded literally overnight.
