    Dunno if it's worth updating my slim to 4.81 OFW tbh. It's on 4.70 OFW and I can use backup injection exploit

    In fact 4.70 exploit is kinda easier in the sense that you can do it on a banned console.

    Yep that's the same as 4.70 backup injection exploit. You don't need psn for that.

    There are more limitations with 4.70 exploit though. You can't inject any PS2 classics, but PSOne classics and some PSP can be unlocked.
    Back when I was using injection method I even rebuilt some PSX pkg games using English translations.

    But yeah no idps or anything needed, just use normal backup utility on XMB and then various tools on PC (TABR etc)...afterwards restore modified backup on PS3.
