Infact, some of the cuts got so silly back then that a guy's scream from the wheel in space episode got cut because it was and i quote "far to scary to children to see someone scream like that" ....we've come along way in some reguards. Oh while i remeber, dead dude i have got both the soundtracks naming them up later on tonight.

There were a lot of restrictions. There actually were for many years but the show improved a lot regardless.

When TNG came out I watched and liked it, but TOS has always been my favourite.
Jack and Sprung are around my age but pretty sure they prefer TNG. I guess I prefer classics (tv/movies) over everything else, usually I've always been like that.

I used to prefer TOS, but it now depends on my mood. I don't have a particular favourite now. I know TOS is dated, but s1 of TNG hasn't dated that well at all. I still have to finish the last couple of episodes of Star Trek Continues, which I managed to rip the content from the site so I can watch it on my TV.

@ DL: I know you know about it, but for any one else that is interested.

TOS is definitely dated, like you said, but it definitely has hit's charm.

I grew up on reruns of TNG so I have have a soft spot for it, personally.

Iv'e only seen a few episodes of TNG as an adult, but I grew up with TOS. I spent a lot of time at my grandma's house, so although I am a child relatively speaking, I have more of a personal interest in old stuff like the Twilight Zone, TOS and other assorted cult classics.

I caught an episode of the Outer Limits (2000) last night and it was pretty awesome, then there was an much older episode, but it was too late for me.
