    Default trouble to run FFVII

    Hello

I want to replay FFVII from the playstation 1 but i can't manage to make it run.

I tried on PCX2 (thought that would work since ps1 game worked on ps2) and i was able to run all the ps2 games i wanted on this emulator. but couldn't run FFVII.

So i downloaded ePSXe 2.0.5, got a bios US and EU got FFVII US and EU but it still doesn't work.

do i need to get some additionnal pulgins ?? or something else ?

Probably plugins/plugin config. It's possible to get it working very well but it takes some serious tinkering with plugins. I was maxing characters to prep for Emerald before I switched platforms/OS. If I find my old config info, I'll edit this post with it. I only recall using a physical disc leads to bad performance, using an iso is way better. IIRC bad settings lead to it booting to a black screen or not at all.

If you'd like to try them, here are some recommended FFVII epsxe settings I got awhile ago (from a now unknown source). If not, you might consider retroarch; I don't have it setup yet, but I've heard good things. Wish I could help more.

after hours trying with epsxe, i couldn't get nothing to run with it, no other games, not even any bios, i have no clue why.

So i try another emulator, psx, and everything is working fine US/EU FFVII and other games

could always try MednaFen, too (I DO NOT RECOMMEND the RetroArch port, Beetle, as it's a headache & a half to even get that set up properly (or even if AT ALL!))

Glad you got it working. FYI there might be a smoothing option that removes some of the pixelation without making it look fuzzy, really improves image quality. There was an option like that in epsxe anyway.
