Default Is there a way to attach 2 keyboards to a pc?

Is there a way to attach two keyboards to a pc so that both of them will work simultaneously? I want to play zsnes with 3 other friends, and there isn't enough keyboard space for all of us to share the same keyboard comfortably. I tried just plugging both into the ps/2 ports, but the keyboard in the green port didn't work.

hum...this is rare. never heard anyone who had done it before.
but could you use one ps/2 and the other one usb?
that might work where two different drivers can be formed instead of two ps/2 device with the same drivers.
i'm not sure actually, but i'm sure someone else here can give a better answer

actually i dont think that it would be possible to do that... the puter wouldnt really be able to handle the input from the new one

getting a joystick may be your best choice atleast that will work

Could be possible seeing how i'm using 2 mice at once (1 ps2 and 1 USB, and both can be used at once,) but not totally sure if the same is possible with a keyboard.

Both could be used, but I seriously doubt that your OS will read input from both simultaneously, which means that playing a video game would be impossible unless it was an NES game where you take turns.

Heh, at school, we stick two mice into one keyboard for fun. (We're running Mac OS X) Both of the mice function at the same time, but they 'fight' XD Same thing with keyboards. Maybe it works in Windows too?

Well the problem is that at least one of the keyboards would need to be USB and it may be cheaper to just buy a six button gamepad.

they might be able to work at the same time, you would probbly have to assign each player different buttons tho.

for example, player 1 on keyboard 1 could use up.down.,left,right. but player 2 on keyboard 2 would have to use different buttons.

Do you really type with both at the same time? How? One hand on each keyboard?

Try opening Word and pressing a key on one keyboard while at the exact same time pressing another key on the second keyboard. If that works, then video games will be playable with two keyboards. I already knew that two would work, but the OS has to be able to accept input from both simultaneously for video games to be playable.

If I were you I'd just search around for some cheap Microsoft Sidewinders. 8 directional d-pad and has 10 usable buttons (6pad, 2shoulder, and start/select which can be used as normal buttons). Normally they're like $20 I think but alot of times they'll sell em for less cause they're getting old and cheap. Like accessmicro.com has them for $13 right now. I've seen them for $5 a couple times and one time accessmicro.com had them for $.99 each! but I was too late to pick any up and the sale ended.

anyways you can chain them together to play multiple people. I've chained 4 together to play a basketball game one time just to see if it works and it does. You could pick two up and chain together to have two on the keyboard and two on controllers. Really easy to setup and they're popular to where most all games and emulators recognize them.

I've got a keyboard in my PS/2 port and a keyboard in USB because I can't use my USB keyboard w/ my boot selector. I can use them both at the same time no problem. You can't use both PS/2 ports though because one PS/2 port is designed for the mouse while the other is designed for the keyboard, they aren't interchangable.
