Default pokemon firered rom cant get some hidden items

Ok so Im playing firered rom on the no$gba emulator.

When im in pewter city I can collect the hidden pokeball that is north of the gym.

But for some reason when I am in the mt.moon cave I cant collect the hidden tinymushrooms and such.

There is some hidden tinymushrooms and bigmushrooms in some rocks in that cave.I know they should be there but for some reason when I click the rocks I cant get those hidden items.

Any one know why im having this issue?

    Hello mightyboxer,

I'm having the exact same problem right now with a rom of fire red I'm playing. I've restarted the game a few times on the rom and everytime I seem not to find any of the mysterious Mt. Moon mushrooms at all. This problem has been discovered yet but nowhere on the internet I could find an explanation. It seems like this problem does not exist in leaf green, it's only in fire red, and as far as I know it's only in the rom and not in the cartridge game. I have not tried downloading another rom of fire red so maybe it's a specific problem in only one rom? Where did you download the rom you're playing on?

Now the last thread is interesting. It says: "Please note; that if you are not playing a straight vanilla, unmodified ROM; you may not find these items; as if you are using some form of rom hack; the object may have been overwritten or deleted from the map. Please also consult the guides in our ROM Hacking section for a list of emulators you can trust will work well and have minimal bugs."

For I am using a randomizer, which is some kind of a rom hack, I believe this will mess up the mushrooms in Mt. Moon. I am going to try now what happens when I play the vanilla, unmodified rom.

So I just replayed the vanilla rom untill Mt. Moon and still I was unable to find the mushrooms.
I'm gonna download a new vanilla Fire red rom from another place and see what happens in that rom.

Okay I tried it with another rom and still there is no single mushroom on a rock to be found in whole Mt. Moon. I don't have a clue why this happens. The strange thing is that the hidden moon stone is there, hidden in a rock, but the tiny mushrooms are not in the game.

Maybe, a complete guess, it's a difference in game version? There are two versions of fire red (V1.0 and V1.1) so far I only played on V1.1 and maybe they are spawned in V1.0?

Also, I found out about this guy's problem:
"I just did a run through Mt Moon with the itemfinder on my cleared file. I found all three Tiny Mushrooms but none of the Big Mushrooms. Maybe I already got them, maybe the tiny ones respawn, maybe the big ones were never there. Hard to say. Sorry I couldn't be more help."

Now the big mushrooms only appear after you beat the game. The poor guy didn't read the bulbapedia page about Mt. Moon, apparantly

Also, I'm 95% - 99% sure that I could find the three tiny mushrooms on my cartridge when I played the game on a gameboy advance, so the problem lies in the rom I think. Something makes the tiny mushrooms unfindable. But what? My next try is to play a leaf green rom and see what happens there.

Now this is getting strange. I've played Leaf Green until Mt. Moon and also in that game there was no single mushroom to be found. So for some reason, the rom version of the fire red / leaf green games just doesn't place the mushrooms while the cartridge does. Why it's like that is unclear to me because I don't know how or if they are differences between the original games and the roms.

    UPDATE

In one of the rom games I continued the game, I'm now 5 badges far. I returned to Mt. Moon, and... THERE ARE TINY MUSHROOMS.

So this makes clear that they do spawn, also in roms, but there is an ingame event that makes them spawn. I don't know what event it is though.

I also updated the bulbapedia page about Mt. Moon mushrooms:
