    Default Dreamcast sonic adventure 2

Hi, i downloaded Sonic Adventure 2 for Dreamcast from this link m.emuparadise.me/Sega_Dreamcast_ISOs/Sonic_Adventure_2_(Europe)(En,Fr,De,Es,Jp)/51708

The .cdi is 820 MB, how do i burn it in a cd? Do i need a 800mb cd? Or can i overburn the image in a classic 700mb cd? Thanks!

Dreamcast games are burnt onto CD-R format discs. You cannot use DVDs or CD-RW discs. To ensure the best chances for your burnt games, use a high-quality disc like Memorex or Verbatim. Burn with disc juggler:

Then hit new then click Burn CD and DVD images then do the following:
    1. Mount the .CDI file
    2. Go to the advanced tab
    3. Click the down box and set mode to MODE 2
    4. Click RAW WRITE
    5. Set write speed at lowest possible
    6. Hit burn and within 20-30minutes you should have the disc ready

Most games are auto-boot(meaning they start without having to use another disc) I have not had a game that isn't auto boot and I have tried a lot of games
    Crazy Taxi
    Quake 3
    PSO PAL V2
    Typing of the Dead
    Sonic Adventure 2
    Soul Calibur
    Half-life
    Sonic Shuffle

All these games I have tried and I can confirm that they should start with out the other disc(I don't even know what the other disc is called because I have never run into the problem) https://dreamcast-talk.com/forum/vie...php?t=1444#top

Thanks for the response, but i still dont understand: should I use a regular 700mb cd or a bigger one? The image i found of sonic adventure 2 is 820mb. Will the game fit into regular cd?

Just do a Google search and you'll find a modified version of imgburn and no 700mb cds are fine just Overburn it won't cease any problems

Wait for Zorlon he knows more about DC games than anyones. Pretty sure you can use a 90 min cd and overburn but let's wait and see what he says.

You could try an 800mb cd and overburn and see if that works since it's just slightly over.

Depends on your OS for ImgBurn and Mill CD images (anything that is not Windows 10 will be fine)

Otherwise Discjuggler is fine default settings mostly (Demo version is fine even with the stated limit)
Overburn enabled (just keep that enabled but not needed for this game)
If asked to repair the image always say No

that image will fit onto a standard 80 min CD-R, the image is actually just under 80 mins 79:58:68 MSF (359918 blocks)

the image size is 776 MB as stated but the actual contents uses less than 700MB, but I would still enable overburn just in case anyway the disc does need a final close session burned

Discjuggler even the demo version is still the best software for multi session cdi images (Dreamcast Mill CD rips) even if it does ask if you want to repair something that is not broken

Sorry for thew late reply I have had other things on that have keep me away for some time

Overburn can squeeze in a few extra bytes with ease for reference we are using Audio + Mode 2 for this game, most will use Mode 2 or a mix of Audio and Mode 2, the disc image is 814,496,494 in bytes, so even there it will still fit a normal 80 min CD but you also have to remember this is a multi session disc so there is extra data wrote (open session close session open session and close session)

I do have a few 99min CD-R rips on our main server but they do state that you require 99 min CD-R's but ~I did try an include 80min options for as many of those as I could

Sorry was looking at the wrong image yes it will fit it's actually smaller than the image I was looking at from the contents point of view and stores 72:54:08 MSF on CD

Image size is not the same as the amount of data that is burned to CD

    Name: Untitled.jpg
Views: 684
Size: 21.9 KB

Still enable overburn and say no to any repair Q

    HINT:
When you open a disc image in Discjuggler to burn it tells you MSF [Minute:Second:Frame 00:00:00] this one fits a 74min CD though most today are 80min anyway so yeah burn away

Just remember you are dealing with either CD-ROM Mode 2 (2,336 Bytes/Block) or a Mix mode of Audio (2,352 Bytes/Block) & CD-ROM Mode 2 (2,336 Bytes/Block) , you can use the chart in my last post to figure that out or you can simply open the cdi in Discjuggler as above to tell you the exact MSF it uses

P.S. every game I uploaded in cdi format is selfbotting aka Dreamcast Mil-CD format so none of those need a boot CD (That would be called Utopia but it's not needed)
