Default XENA for ps2 (pal on ntsc consol/ tv)

I scoured the compatibility faq's and couldn't find this info. my wife really likes this game but i had trouble getting it to work.
I patched the bin/cue files with "PAL/NTSC FIXER 1.07" but i was still having issues with a black screen when i booted the game.
I am using free mcboot 1.95 with a SATA hard drive inside my PS2 (and using "OPEN PS2 LOADER"- "OPL" for short). my output cables are the composite style for optimum resolution on my LCD tv.

that's where the problem lies. if you want to play XENA on your PS2 you have to have the output on the RGB cables (the yellow/red and white cable set up). although this is officially a ps2 game (PAL version)it's just like with any of the ps1 games, they won't play with the composite cable set up on the ps2.

    I hope this helps somebody.

Wow! so if i understand the GSM settings correcly, I no longer have to patch a PAL game with "PAL/NTSC fixer" before loading it? I can just add it to my HDD in it's native mode (in this case PAL), then set the "GSM" options in "OPL" and that will allow the game to play? Wow! that is freaking amazing! and that is a great help.
