    There's a hardcover copy (including dust jacket) of that at work nobody wants it. It looks nice until you open it, looks like it was printed for either small children or people 80+ years old...and the illustrations are terrible for the most part.

    If it's the one I've seen heaps of times over the years it was first published in 1979, probably reprinted heaps but if you look inside you'll see when it was first published.

    It's probably the one you are thinking of. For me it's just a cool thing to have as a fan. I even kept my mongoloid dvd sets after getting the extended edition trilogy blu set.

    I'm a fan but that thing is terrible. The artwork nearly looks worse than that Fellowship cartoon movie

    I do have The Atlas of Middle-Earth which is actually tastefully done.

    I didn't hate those cartoons, Hobbit or Fellowship. I mean they are what they are, which is not nearly as good as the epic live action versions but they are also pretty damn old.
