been so bored this morning I started 2 new games on my 3ds and only played them for a little bit.
on another note I ended up getting a bit more money out of that ebay seller for a partial refund I'm gonna keep the hdd and try selling the unit and controller.
started looking for a replacement ps3 I've noticed prices went up and they're just as scarce around here as they were when I bought my first one.

If you can save up and get a slim that is what I would recommend.

Probably where Grouch is anyway. I still think the psu is worth keeping even if he does buy a slim.
Never know if a free fat will turn up one day that has a dead psu...even if the BD drive is dead too that doesn't matter if you can run CFW.

It isn't worth it. Reballing isn't a 100% fix forever deal. Sometimes after a reball the console will be ok for a few months or maybe a year but it'll die again.
The main thing is most reballers won't pull the heat spreaders and remove the crappy thermal glue.

It's expensive and just not worth it unless you have a heap of valuable data on there you want to transfer to another ps3...this is mainly what people use if for.
If you wanna try to fix it do a reflow yourself. Just use a heat gun.

Well maybe not there but I'm assuming you should move around sometime in the next 10 years. I mean not live somewhere else entirely but travel.
I got 3 fats for nothing and one works fine I live in a country town of less than 500 people

I'd trust buying from you over buying something over priced from ebay again. I've seen a couple fats on cl that weren't too badly priced but I don't know about taking that risk again.

I didn't think the psu from a fat was compatible with a slim.
