MESS emulation issues; can't run certain consoles

Hello my friends, I've come to this forum because I've been wanting to find an answer to this situation I've been in for months.

In MESS (version 0.185), even with all the right BIOS in the folder, I still cannot get the emulator working because it gives me the same "this device is missing one or more ROM or CHD files"

The emulators I'm having trouble with are;
-Hurtang Game Master/Systema 2000
-Bally Astrocade
-Mega Duck/Cougar Boy
(Side note: Mega Duck will just show a green screen when I try to load it.)
-Super Cassette Vision

What can be done about this? I've been searching for answers for months now but all the answers that I've received haven't helped.

grab a UI version if you have not already http://www.progettosnaps.net/messui/

right click on the system and hit audit, that will tell you exactly what is missing rather than just say rom or chd missing

I downloaded it and I'm rather confused. Does this "Messui.exe" act as a MESS emulator but with a feature where it tells you what's missing? If so then do I just move all the roms and stuff over to that folder then?

just move MessUI.exe to your mess folder it's quicker

both mess and the gui version can run from the same folder, then you can use either

You're a life saver, all of the emulators that I couldn't get working now work. I had no idea I had to name the rom folders a specific thing, I wouldn't have ever guessed it.
