Yeah base versions of Beth TES & Fallout games are a lot more stable than all the extra content. You can even add some mods (within reason) to base versions and the game should still be more stable than complete version.

For Skyrim (and other such games on PC) there are mods you can use to increase performance on lower spec hardware. I believe Fallout 4 is the only such game that is more difficult to mod for lower spec.

I've done some testing with Fallout 3 & NV base games on PS3 (which are the most unstable versions of the game, mainly due to hardware limitations), added a few small mods and it doesn't make them any worse.

    Spoiler warning:

Yeah there's a really good optimization mod for graphics and the ui. Didn't use them though and it was still fine. Think I only had Dawnguard with it. Same with Fallout 3. NV was a different story though. Simply abysmal compared to the others on the same low spec machine.

I told you once we'll keep on talking about Bethesda games for years to come

    Any chance we get

I'm looking on eBay currently and I'm leaning towards a windows 7 "gaming" laptop. Like Sager for under $300

I really really really don't trust windows 10..

Because this post kind of got De-railed slightly
I made another thread concerning specs.

    Default Help me Understand :D

Alright lads and lasses, I'm looking for a new laptop.

    For MAINLY emulation.
I want to emulate the following (from most desired to droppable)

    NEO-GEO
    GBA
    PSP
    N64
    DS
    GENESIS
    SNES
    PS1
    NES
    GAMECUBE you
    APPLE II/Atari 2700
( And whatever else I can work I guess?)

Now I've messed with emulators before, a lot actually.. it's my life pretty much <3 I know all the emulator names. i just need to know what can emulate all this perfectly. or at least 30 FPS.
I need to know the following:

    "What am I looking for?"
    Should I worry about a 1.6Ghz-3.0?
Should I worry about the Graphics card?
    Does brand name matter?
What kind of processor is best?

Now I'm looking to play old pc games as well. But I just want to know,
What should I be looking for mainly for emulation? I'll even research the processor if I have to. So get as technical as you can on me.

My old desktop ran almost everything fine but I don't know jack about laptops. emulation Is a finicky beast I know. So can anybody here help me with this? In technical aspects? And preferably from those who emulate on laptops!

So please educate me on what a good laptop for emulation should contain!

TL ; DR help me understand what a good emulation laptop is. Secondly, no saying "just get a $2,000 laptop"
I just want to know SPECIFICALLY what I should look for

(This was originally a separate thread, im not that insane!)
