    Default PC emulators

Does anyone know a good Windows emulator? I'm looking specifically for Windows 7/8 or Windows 7 ultimate.

    You want a win7 emulator??

Or a specific emulator for use on win7

Umm can you be a little more specific. Really don't think there's a win7/8.1 emulator out there. What are you trying to do?

My friend is picky and thinks a problem on WoW is being caused by the fact I'm using windows 10. I'm looking for an windows 7 or 8 emulator that's compatible with windows 10. I doubt it'll fix anything, but I do kinda want to get the emulator anyway.

Yeah there's no such thing. They're just too damn big. There was some progress on a win 3.1 emulator awhile back (only plays one game: the original Starcraft) but yeah that doesn't help.

Only thing you can really do is get an actual copy (through whatever means ) and either look into any dual boot options or backup and wipe your drive and install it. Or even see if there's a compatibility mode option in win10 that would work.

I would look into why the game is having problems though in win10 and look up a fix. Could be outdated drivers or a some simple settings issue. Don't really know that game or what issue you're having with it in the first place. If it works for you though and you're friend is just complaining for the sake of complaining then tell him to shutup

You should be able to run older versions of Windows using VirtualBox.

I have Windows 7 professional sp1. I have been able to emulate and recommend the following emulators:

    NES - JNES.EXE
    SNES - SNES9X.exe
    ATARI 2600 - STELLA.exe
ATARI 5200 - Atari++.exe (See my post for settings)
ATARI ST - Steem SSE 3.3.0\Steem SSE 3.3.0.exe
    NINTENDO 64 - Project64 2.3\Project64.exe
    Playstation 2 - PCSX2 0.9.8\pcsx2-r4600.exe (Need fast machine)
    Playstation 1 - Playstation 1 (Ken Castle)\KEN ePSXe.exe
SEGA (Genesis, Master System, CD, 32x) - Sega\Genesis\Fusion364\Fusion.exe

That's what I've found so far. I hope this helps...

Ah. Forgot about this! No idea how to use it myself but I suppose it is another option.

lol there are plenty of virtual machines out there, not that hard to use really, but it has a good chance to lag a lot for games and not a good way to test WoW on Windows 7, I used Virtual Box more for 16bit apps on a basic XP or 98SE install

Windows 10 is certainly not without issues, I for one reverted back to 7 because of issues with some of the programs I usually use, but most things did work fine if you are a basic user
