RetroArch blackscreen

Hi guys,
First of all i want to mention i am very new to emulators and not a computer wizard precisely; also sorry for my English, I am from Paraguay.

I have 100+ original ps1 games and the console. They have all been stored in my basement for twenty years at least, and since my kid is starting to play the remastered version of crash bandicoot on ps4, i wanted to show him what the original actually looks like and got all nostalgic and stuff as well. So, i went to the basement to find all the CD-ROMs were all black and weren't read by the console. So, i decided to download RetroArch to play ps1 games. I downloaded the emulator, and followed one of those youtube tutorials, but when i tried to play a game by dragging the .cue file the screen would just go black. No sound, nothing. Just a black screen. I've been trying to play any ps1 game on my computer for a week now, even bought a xbox 360 brand new remote to play. I would be ever grateful if you could, with patience and very simple directions help me sort this out. Sorry if this is not properly posted or in the right section, i just really please want some help. Thanks!

I don't use retroarch personally but can you not load the game file in retroarch menu itself? For example something like clicking - file - load game? Try loading the actual bin/iso file too.

It would seem as if the emulator does not recognize stuff on my computer to load the actual bin/iso file. For instance, i went to Desktop and there was nothing there to scan.

I got to load the game with the emulator (not dragging). Black screen. Please, any other ideas? Changed drivers lg to vulkan, nothing. Please

and what with cue file its wrong or what also roms are bad dumps or verified [!]
which core you try use in retroarch
are you ahve corect core and did you setup all

whith wrong configuration there is hope to fix it
otherwise change OS to Win7
Win 10 have issues

I highly doubt the ROMS are the problem since i downloaded a handful. I did not mention I used ePSXe on it's own (not through RetroArch) before trying RetroArch, and it was emulating. UNTIL a friend screwed up and started moving stuff. That's when emulation stopped working on this computer. Then, i proceeded to download RetroArch - Beetle Psx, without luck. All i got since was a black screen. Maybe this has something to do?

I think changing to Win7 is not an option for I need windows updated for work. Any other clues? Please?

He isn't here every day but he knows a fair bit about retroarch, he's always recommending it over everything else.
