Yeah just leave it on auto, ePSXe will run games in 25 or 30 fps depending on region PAL or NTSC, with all the frame drops of a real PS1.

PSX frame rate was 25 or 30 but it was also interlaced scan that is 2x 25 frames or 2x 30 frames (it's done with odd and even scan lines that are shown alternatively 25 or each per second for PAL or 30 of each NTSC), converting that to progressive scan that is a solid image and you get 50 frames or 60 frames anyway

ePSXe auto is not that accurate plus would never use 25 or 30 fps as that would be wrong and would constantly lag as it uses progressive scan not interlaced you can add filters ect to try and simulate interlaced but never looks the way it should do to me anyway

There always will be that one guy that complains, that one piexel is wrong even on a 8K screen, yeaeh ePSXe doesn't use solid 50/60 FPS it tends to jump between 59/61 49/51, which doesn't matter that much as games have thier own FPS, so if a game drops several frames like in Soul Reaver ePSXe FPS counter won't show it, or if you overclock PS1 CPU, the game will run much faster like 200FPS but ePSXe will still say 60.
