    Default Retroarch 1.3.6 and PSX

    Hi All,

Sigh, yes another PSX on Retroarch post.

Im really sorry, I have looked everywhere to solve this issue and nothing that i have found for the last 3 days of looking has solved it.

When running any game on snes9x or the one for megadrive it all works fine but when trying to run a game for psx on mednafen it just wont have it and crashes out with a C++ runtime error.

    I have the correct BIOS(s)
The system config for emulation station is correct
I have tried running it directly from CMD
I have tried running it from retroarch.
I am pointing it to the .cue file for the game

This is my system xml for emulation station

    <system>
    <name>psx</name>
    <fullname>Playstation</fullname>
    <path>~\.emulationstation\roms\psx</path>
    <extension>.cue .CUE</extension>
    <command>%HOMEPATH%\.emulationstation\systems\retr oarch\retroarch.exe -L %HOMEPATH%\.emulationstation\systems\retroarch\cor es\mednafen_psx_libretro.dll "%ROM_RAW%"</command>
    <platform>psx</platform>
    <theme>psx</theme>
    </system>

Below is the latest log file when i thought i will try another game as it may be a dodgy ROM but nope... (i say latest as i have had a few different errors but this is the latest one after reinstalling everything)

    lvl2: req sound [basic.launch]
    lvl2: (missing)
    lvl2: Attempting to launch game...
    lvl2: getting volume as 32 ( from float 0.32)
    lvl2: %HOMEPATH%\.emulationstation\systems\retroarch\ret roarch.exe -L %HOMEPATH%\.emulationstation\systems\retroarch\cor es\mednafen_psx_libretro.dll "C:\Users\Jimi\.emulationstation\roms\psx\GrandThe ftAuto.cue"
lvl1: ...launch terminated with nonzero exit code 3!
    lvl2: Creating surface...

I have been on every website I swear, trying to sort this out but nothing is working.

Please help. It only seems to be PSX that is having the issue.

    Thanks
    Dreccy

Did you install the latest DirectX redist?

Have you have RetroArch pointed to where the bios is?

Is the inside of the cue named the same as the bin?

Il try to help you the best I can.
THE BEST METHOD to run PSX games (and everything else for that matter) is via Retroarch - http://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/
If you have any questions on how to set it up on Windows please feel free to ask, its very easy.

    Heya,

    Yup, done the latest DX
Yup, changed the directory to point the BIOS folder.
I created the .cue files as there wasn't any with the two ISO's I got from here. (this is the only weak link I can see so far)
and yes both the .bin and .cue are names are the same and the extensions are lower case.

Sorry I forgot to put that I had already done all these things in my OP. I have tried so many things to get this working I have forgotten to put a fair bit of info in the OP I expect.

    Thank your help so far

Oh forgot to mention that the files work fine with the standalone emu
