Default Disc 1 and Disc 2 games?

I'm guessing there's already content explaining this on the forum, but in case there isn't I'll make a thread.

    I downloaded a gamecube game that has a disc 1 and a disc 2.

I played the first disc and well it just went black when I "finished" it. So I downloaded the second disc. I couldn't start from the beginning (makes sense cuz disc two), but I tried to load what I saved from disc 1 onto disc 2 with emulation "load state" option and for like 2 seconds it let me play and then it froze.

Am I missing an extra step? or something...

Save states obviously never existed back when multi-disc games were a thing. Save with the in-game process on the first disc, then load up the second disc and resume your save file.
*PSA* Wii Redump collector's can now unscrub ISO files. So scrubbed games can now be verified. You can find the program to do this here

Oh okay. How do you save your content on a computer then?? I obviously don't have a memory card. Unless you can put a memory card in your computer like you're putting it into your laptop?

It's saying my memory card in slot A is corrupted, but I don't even have a memory card to begin with.

    Thanks for your help.

Emulators like the one you're using have virtual memory cards, obviously not real physical cards

    Spoiler warning:

No physical memory card is required a virtual one can be created for emulation and you would save like you would on a retail console at a save point or when prompted to do so

You may however need to format the virtual memory card though before it is use-able by some games

some two or more disc games do not let you create a next disc save at the end of the previous disc though and force you to change discs mid game

Okay, I successfully formatted the virtual memory card and saved my game.

The only problem is that when I load disc two and load the memory card, it freezes again.

Is there a way to like connect disc 1 and disc 2..?

Because on disc 1 I save the game right before I play one more battle. I play that battle without being able to save and then the game goes to a cut scene and then it goes black... I'm guessing when it goes black that's time to change discs, but I don't know.

When it goes black click file-change disc and select the second one.

The game doesn't show the change disc splash screen properly without a settings change (not needed really)

Save as soon as you can and try to stay away from savestates.
