Default PS2 Emulator slows during gameplay

    Hey everyone,

I was recently playing Suikoden 3, freshly downloaded from this site, and noticed at times the game slows down dramatically. Not during combat or conversations, but when you are moving about the world and in towns. It slows so much that the sound becomes distorted too.

Is anyone else having this problem?
    Is it an easy fix?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey,

So, that really doesn't help the issue.

Here is a pic of the specs the PS2 emulator is using. My pc is way more advanced than the one used to test.

It will be your PC specs that are under Par for PS2 emulation, information that you have not provided in the first place

The plugin selection is not any help without knowing the hardware it is running on

P.S. the specs are not from my setup but those of a user that tested the game, personally I played those years ago on my PS2 continuing my save from the PSX game Suikoden II, not that I am against emulation or anything but to mess on so much just to get a game working fine in the first place is too much for me I just want to play a game, I do emulate though but mostly on other consoles just not much on PC unless I am testing or hacking

    Anyway

Set the res to default if needs be and or reduce any other custom settings

Try using SSE4.1 instead of AVX that only really gives you a minor speed boost for software mode but not for hardware

also switching between hardware and software mode, doing so will give various results but worth trying as well as Direct3D and OpenGL can have different results

Thank you. I will give your advice a shot.

It seems as though the only time I have the issue is in the first town, then not again after.

Hopefully playing with the setting a little will fix the issue.
