Here's what happens when you add alcohol and Metallica together. I didn't make these up myself, and I can't remember where I found them. It's not a big list, but I thought it was worth sharing.

    1: Ride The (White) Lightning
    2: Trapped Under (Smirnoff) Ice
3: The House That Jack (Daniels) Built
    4: Eye Of The Beerholder
    5: Through The Stella
6: For Whom The Bell's (Whiskey) Tolls
    7: Tasting My Crate
    8: Amber Messiah
    9: (Dry Black)Thorn Within
10: The Thing That Should Not Beer

JOHNNY WONDERPANTS' TOP 50 ALBUMS OF ALL TIME!

Today I take you through the first ten albums.

    50. Yes - Tales From Topographic Oceans
It originally came as 2 double sided LP's, with 4 songs on the whole thing, often hailed as their best, it only just crawled into my top 50.
    49. Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway
Why did they have to turn pop? They used to churn out prog gems such as this, this was my first experience with the Prog Genesis
    48. Joe Satriani - Surfing With The Alien
What a guitarist, his riffs might not account for much, but I love this album for the sheer skill.
    47. Rhapsody - Symphony Of Enchanted Lands
While they are the cheesiest band I have ever heard, I love the melodies the keyboardist brings into it. This is the singer's(name?) best effort of what I have heard also.
    46. Fear Factory - Soul Of A New Machine
There is a might bit of filler on this album, but alas, the great songs, are truly great, FF at their best, IMO.
    45. Radiohead - The Bends
This spawned my love of this band, I absolutely adore this album. Street Spirit and The Bends are my favourites.
    44. Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
I bought this on a dare, I had only heard Today, and I thought it was mediocre (at the time), but someone I knew kept raving on about it, and now I love it. Mayonaise is the standout
    track for me.
    43. Strapping Young Lad - SYL
Definitley one of the best releases of this year, it's possibly the best production I have ever heard. Devin Townsend is a genius.
    42. Queen - A Night At The Opera
It'd be about 50 positions lower, if it weren't for Bohemian Rhapsody, it alone was enough to purchase this, the rest of the album is good though.
    41. The Cure - Pornography
This is The Cure at their gothest (is that a word?). Dunno what I can say about this one, hmmmm, I like this album!

That's it for today, the next ten ar revealed tomorrow...

    40. In Flames - The Jester Race
This is my favaourite In Flames album, and the album that got me into them, The Jester's Dance is the best 2min11sec song ever.
    39. Porcupine Tree - In Absentia
My introduction to them, heard about them from Steve Wilson's work with Opeth, and I really like it. Great production aswell.
    38. Stratovarius - Fourth Dimension
The cheese factor is high, but not as high as Timo's voice. He is one of my very favourite vocallists. This album was the first I heard of them, too bad most of their other stuff isn't as good.
    37. Opeth - Deliverance
I bought this on a dare also, I'd only heard Karma from them at the time, and I heard they were releasing a prog album, so I pre ordered it and bought this to tide me over. needless to say I was far more impressed with this than I was with Damnation.
    36. Pantera - Vulgar Display Of Power
Mouth For War was the main reason I bought it, but the riffs are awesome, vinnie paul's double kick is awesome, and phil's voice is very high for a grind vocallist.
    35. Queensryche - Promised Land
My first Queensryche album. I was so impressed when I first bought this, I thought it was amazing, now the impact has worn off and I've discovered beter Queensryche albums, but it still is a brilliant album.
    34. Megadeth - Rust In Peace
Strangely enough, being the Metallica fan I am, I've only recently got into Megadeth, Mustaine's voice always used to annoy me, but I downloaded Hanger 18 and I just love this album.
    33. Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
    One word. Kashmir.
    32. Symphony X - The Odyssey
The title track still amazes me, it's my favourite SymX song, the rest of the album is sub par in comparison however.
    31. Spock's Beard - Snow
This album is huge. I thought V was great, but then this just blew me away. It's a double concept album. Too bad Neal Morse has left the band, he did pretty much everything.

Come one, somebody comment. Any of your favourite albums already mentioned? Anything you thought would be higher?...

    30. Symphony X - V
The first SymX songs I heard were from this CD, while The Odysseyis my favourite song of theirs, I prefer this as a whole.
    29. Iron Maiden - Powerslave
I don't own this one yet, but I love every song on it. Damn CD stores for not stocking it!...
    28. Dream Theater - Awake
The last album with KevMo is their heaviest and most raw effort to date, I didn't like it much at first, but songs like Voices and Space Dye Vest got me hooked.
    27. Kansas - Leftoverture
Carry On Wayward Son made me buy this album, but the whole thing is filled with epics, pure prog brilliance.
    26. Iron Maiden - The Number Of The Beast
Awesome, awesome album, my introduction to them, but it was the second album I bought. The title track is my favourite, followed Children of The Damned and 22 Acacia Avenue.
    25. Genesis - Selling England By The Pound
See 49, except it was my second, and it's far superior, IMO.
    24. Opeth - Blackwater Park
I bought this almost immediately after Deliverance, being so impressed wih it, and it was just awesome, It might notbe as high on my Opeth list as soon as I acquire the first two though.
    23. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
All I really need to say is Shine On. That is the main reason, but the whole album is brilliant. Best cover art ever also.
    22. Led Zeppelin - II
By far my favourite Zeppelin, mainly because of the drum solo in Moby Dick .
    21. Muse - Origin Of Symmetry
Probably the most impressed I have been upon purchase ever. Muse were a religion to me after I bought this. Not so much anymore ofcourse. Citizen Erased and Microcuts are my favourite tracks.

    Come on people, comment!...

    20. Metallica - Master Of Puppets
Probably the most popular album among fans, this has my favourite song of theirs, plus it has the best solos, IMO.
    19. Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
While it is one of my most listened to albums ever, I definitely don't think it the best (most people do), albeit lyrically amazing. Time is my favourite song off this one.
    18. The Cure - Disentegraqtion
They were one of my very favourite bands, this album brought that on, Fascination Street still stands as one of my favourite songs of all time.
    17. Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness
Horrifyingly ambitious, but I loved it from my first listen. Why, the second track was enough to make me a fan of the album.
    16. Yes - The Yes Album
Starship Trooper was he first Yes song I ever heard, and since then I've been hooked, I love Time Sig prog like this. Great live aswell, they always put a 5 minute drum solo in Perpetual Change.
    15. Rush - 2112
[yoda]Almost my favourite song ever, the title track is, hmm?[/yoda] The fills are simply amazing, Peart just goes nuts on this album, while there is some filler, the breathaking 20 minute title track and tracks 2 and 3 are enough for me.
    14. Opeth - Still Life
This album holds my very faovurite Opeth song, The Moor, it was the fourth album of theirs I bought, and a favourite for some time. Awesome album!
    13. Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son
My favourite power metal band at their best, Bruce Dickinson is my third favourite vocallist (behind both Judas Priest singers), and Steve Harris is awesome. The title track and The Evil That Men Do are my personal favourites.
    12. Metallica - Ride The Lightning
This IS my most listened to album, I know it so well that it started to lose it's appeal on a couple of the tracks, but I love it to death. Hey, the first few Creeping Death riffs were the first things I learnt on guitar.
    11. Pink Floyd - The Wall
This is Pink Floyd's greatest, IMO, and I picked it up for $15 AUD ($8US, 6 pounds, approx). It pains me to cut this album short, I always have to listen to the whole thing. It's just a very good album.

    Excited yet?...

indeed, this one is awesome. Especially Number of the Beast, Children of the Damned, and Hallowed be thy Name, which I happen to be listening to now.

    10. Pain Of Salvation - The Perfect Element Part 1
I only picked this up recently, but am I impressed? Daniel Gildenlow is a **cking genius.
    9. Marillion - Misplaced Childhood
The only Marillion album that borderlined mainstream, (meaning Kayleigh got played on the radio twice), it has their best melodies to date, great vocals, great concept, and I can play lavender on the piano.
    8. Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse
Prog and Death Metal. Who thought they could fuse so well? This my most recent Opeth album to get into, but it's **cking amazing! Not a second of bad on it.
    7. Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
First, I'll mention that it has, what is without doubt, the best, concept, ever. Classic Rock Magazine's Best Concept album of all time. It's just pure ear candy, the only gripe I have is a slight bit of 80's cheese.

    Yeah...

    Alright then...

    6. King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King
I'm listening to this album as I post this. One of the first prog albums ever made, this is by far, my favourite Psychadelic album ever. 21st Century Schizoid Man is great, I mean, how can't you love a song with such a great title? There's really good guitar sounds on this album. Robert Fripp is a god.

    Happy?...
