Don't forget that the PS3 launched at $500 - $600. If someone paid more than than for a dual core setup with no GPU in it in 2010 they're a sucker.

The desktop I have was originally a brand name job (Dell, HP or something like that) so yeah it would've cost more than a PS3.
I ripped everything out of the small original case and threw it into a spare large tower I had.
Had to drill some extra holes 'cos the slim oem psu wouldn't bolt up
Only transplanted everything so I could run more drives and have better cooling. Also extra usb ports (there were unused headers on the motherboard).
