Waiting for decent CFW to be released. Ferrox Cobra needs to be fixed (v1.00 is missing PSP DRM patch afaik), Overflow Cobra is using old 7.3 patches.
I'd prefer Rebug tbh but that'll probably be a longer wait than the other two options.

Yes. My fat is on 4.70 OFW it was already above 3.55 when I got it. Upgraded the HDD but haven't spent any money on it.
It is possible to install Ferrox, use QA toggle plugin and then downgrade to Rebug 4.81 but it's just more steps.
This is all pretty new and I'm seeing some posts about people bricking, although that can be fixed using a hardware flasher.

I'm sure brick risk will be minimized in time. If you knew someone with a hardware flasher or had one you'd already be on CFW .

Yeah I don't have access to a flasher for free, and I'm not spending money on this. I could easily buy some more 40GB fats for the price of a flasher and I already have spare drives to upgrade them.

I've done enough reading to know what I should be doing. I just haven't actually done it before.
Just wanna exploit and then go straight to the CFW I want.

Nope. I'm not 100% sure but I can only think of one game that I need on that platform now.
I have a slim anyway so the cart door won't close properly with them, I use a grip kit too.
