I would avoid US versions of BBC (in fact anything that was PAL originally) releases myself. I mean with DVD it has been converted down to 480i yuck.

Low quality shit Maybe they excluded some bonus stuff or something idk. It's possible that they can fit more episodes on discs.

Also that seller might not ship to the US and if they do it would be at least $20. I really only do it for stuff like that He-Man show I linked to for which the second half runs about $80-100 USD in the 2nd hand market and is oop.

Mill Creek fits a lot of episodes on to each disc.

I can't remember the last region locked DVD player I had, probably the first one I bought
My first BD player is region locked for BD but RF for DVD. My newer BD player is DVD RF and BD region can be changed in the menu.

I can live with a resolution hit like that if the overall bitrate and quality are better .

We have a couple oppos. They get the job done. Region free players I think are much less common here. If the mafiaaaaa could have their way...

The quality isn't better though. Lower resolution is simply that.
The bitrate won't be any better than the PAL release, there's no way a US BBC DVD of old stuff will be better than a PAL version.

$47 shipped on eBay for the Aussie release within the US. So probably doing that.

Unless you can find a euro seller. It will be like region 2 iirc (we're region 4) but both are PAL.

If that's the case, yes. All I was getting at is that if you crap on a release bad enough the higher resolution won't mean a thing.

I'm assuming your tv is multi format, I've seen a fair few NA peeps say they don't have one which to me is bloody odd in this day and age.
I'd have to look really hard to find a PAL only set now, and probably can't even find any new tbh.
