Trying out some Dark Souls 2. Pretty well optimized for PC. Actually I'm rather astounded. Apparently I'm just ever so slightly below min spec yet the game still runs at high settings at 1080p

Darksouls 1 was a steaming pile of poo and couldn't get it running with everything low and something crazy like 800x600.

Although I should probably beat a few other things before diving into another big rpg...

I've read that some people have got Fallout 4 running on low spec hardware. There are at least a couple of mods for lowering graphics/textures.

That's the only game in the series that I've actually completed, but haven't got all the trophies. Playing through it again trying to clean up became a chore so I moved on.
They're good games but there isn't much in the way of content really...I mean compared to many other RPGs.

Same. Thing I always hated and it's still there are poor controls which lead to cheap falling deaths. On a beam or narrow path, turn around and slide right the fuck off. I really don't like how long it transitions between swinging your weapon and then blocking or rolling either but maybe that will get better with better stats and equipment.

Was soooo close to beating the first boss and got nailed. Almost snapped my controller in half. Guess I should run around and level a bit and find better equipment. I stumbled upon it accidently and wasn't ready but again I came very very close.

Still it's not a horrible game and seems a bit easier than Demons but it sure gets damned frustrating.

I want to say it stays just as clumsy throughout but it's been a while since I've played. Agreed on the controls, I had more trouble with those than I ever did with the rest of it.
