Yeah, it seems like people have such faith in it despite it being quite difficult to use for any transaction at all that isn't hidden money transfer and drug purchasing.

One legitimate complaint I have with bitcoin and a lot of cryptocurrencies is that their value doesn't remain stable enough to actually use as a currency which is what they're intended as. They seem to be used more as a resource for making money than as actual money themselves.

Well barter I believe wouldn't challenge currency as currency evolved in order to challenge barter as a means for everyone to exhange their labour and skills for goods and services without having to know the exchange rate of potentially thousands of items.

But yeah, the ability for anyone to transfer money from one country to another without anyone knowing is a great benefit.

Right, right, and right. I believe that having a "currency" that isn't printed by a federal reserve bank, distributed and taxed and tariffed by local banks, will take power away from those structures, and that if bitcoin comes under their control that a new cryptocurrency could replace it, ad infinitum, and this is how the masses would stifle the power of bank cartels and the arms industry. This is the bloodless revolution that we need to really change the status quo. This is my hope.

Maybe it won't happen like that, but pray with me.

    Be afraid. Be very afraid.

He wanted to see it in action. Told him I couldn't. He scoffed saying even a 450 watt would run it. I didn't respond to that. I only have like a 250 myself..
