PS4 Pro price probably won't shift for 3 years Nintendo nothing will happen...never did for Wii U right up until it vanished retail and now people demand crazy prices for them.
    Vita/PS TV is the same.
At least all the games are free on Wii U.

PSTV was clearanced for $20 here. Vita has never been cheap though.

I just like it so I don't have to pull out my PS1, SNES, NES, or anything retro to play my games on. And it only takes up the HDMI port on my TV.
If this is your only use for it a Wii accomplishes the same task but better and is cheaper.

The PS4 is better than either of these other players sans the remote.
You can get RF BD/DVD players here for under $100au, they have DLNA and everything. Maybe the only things they can't do are SACD and DVD-A but I don't care.
Nothing wrong with them I have one, as well as my old original player that is BD region locked (that has PS3 fat laser unit in it).

If I get a standalone BD player it's going to be an older oppo. Have been using oppos (recently upgraded to a 980H) as my main dvd player for 3+ years now and love them.

It scratches an itch that I have for messing with things, I'll be honest though the only lasting use I have for it is as a seedbox for torrents because it drains very little power, however it is limited in ethernet speed so it doesn't function very well as one. But again it costs next to nothing so you can't expect top level quality.

God I hate High Seas Fortress. How am I supposed to chain kills if no one shows up for 30+ seconds.

That's pricey stuff though dude. The 2 I have are good enough for me atm.
I'll probably get an Xbone S before I have a 4k tv or standalone 4k player.
Who knows, might end up using an S for 4k BD...

Yeah, that's why I haven't bought one yet.

I've also got some Lumagen processors on the ole eventually list.

Less power than a 11.3" dual core laptop? I'm assuming the Pi doesn't have a display.

VP50Pro is nice enough that it's not a huge priority. Really helps dvds.

Well assuming a laptop takes about 65W a pi3 takes 5W I believe, or that is the recommended amount for a pi3 so yes, a lot less power.

65w is max though dude, it only draws what it needs. Your 5w doesn't account for a display at all, and the laptop doesn't have network or resource issues.
