got my new keyboard today way earlier than i expected even though it was being shipped from a nearby state. it's going to take some time getting used to this over my laptops buttons seems pretty nice for a verbatim brand. typing with this really makes me realize how worn out my laptop keyboard is.
hopefully my new monitor gets here earlier than estimated.

I say never, gave it a quick look until the first boss years ago, then never went back. Got to the 3rd boss and haven't got a clue where I'm going...

that's one thing about the old metroids there's not much direction on where to go. it's been a while since I lasted played it and finished it. the best advice I can give you is look at your map especially if you've visited the map rooms they give you an overview of the area. anywhere that isn't colored in on your map is a good place to check.

Haha yeah that's the case with Metroids up until Metroid Fusion I believe for GBA? No direction at all. Fusion literally always gives you a giant blinking area to go to on your map.

I don't think I ever finished that one. I finished zero mission which was a pretty nice remake of the first one.

I really like Metroid Fusion. Good Metroid gameplay, decent story, and having direction is a nice plus to it.

Just finished my first play of The Lost Legacy
Decided to read through a guide to see what I need to clean up before doing a crushing run.
It seems the bonus menu didn't unlock for me at all

    Edit:
No encounter select either, just chapter select.

I love Fusion too. I'm not going to get into whether it's the "best" Metroid, but I'd say that it definitely works well for what it is. The fully open-ended Super experience wouldn't have worked as well on handheld, so having a constant feeling that there was a specific goal (which in some cases could be put off or ignored temporarily) really helped keep the game focused. There was still a lot of exploration and while some people felt they were being coddled, I genuinely liked having Adam there to help Samus; and I liked Samus' monologues. Super Metroid feels very desolate and isolated, but Fusion doesn't make it as readily nightmare-inducing despite the plot. There's also a lot more explicit plot and a better story compared to Super.
