Wanted to increase the hdd space. Maybe a small ssd for windows and the bigger games and a couple tb for everything else. Still need to add a network card too.

I listened to a podcast with a guy who siad something similar, that blockchain currencies may lead to a massive upheaval.

But if those financial regulation bodies like the federal reserve lose a lot of their control wouldn't they strongly oppose the growth of cryptocurrencies in order to retain control?

It's kinda like the climate change issue. By the time the government decides to do anything about it, it will be well past the tipping point. What with VPN and similar technologies, botnet cloud servers, and the like, the feds won't be able to stage an effective physical raid. And most of the best hackers in the world are private sector so they probably won't be able to stop it digitally either short of dismantling their entire internet infrastructure, which would inevitably lead to a robust mesh net to replace the internet as we know it.

You could possibly salvage a wireless adapter out of a junked device. Some PVR etc just use a small generic wireless USB adaptor internally, pull it out and try it on your PC you should be able to find working drivers for it. I have a couple of wireless N adaptors here that I got that way and they work fine on W7.

The laptop adapters don't have a USB interface, well I've never seen one that does anyway even in cheap netbooks. I'm not sure what the interface they use is actually called, but I think it's possible to swap those adaptors around in laptops...that is you can pull say a wireless adapter and swap in bluetooth or vice versa. They need to have that special interface though.

If you want one with USB you'll need to look at PVR, it's also possible one might be in some sort of proprietary ISP modem/router that has media function built in.
They're just a USB type adaptor with the outer case stripped off Same footprint as a full size USB thumb drive but without the case.

I can probably just pick up a wireless card somewhere for 5-10 bucks. Just lazy. For the heck of it dropped by Bestbuy down the street and they only had one model which was 49.99. Yeah fuck that noise.
