Default Super Puzzle Bobble "Missing one or more ROM or CHD images"

So I was trying to run the CHD for Super Puzzle Bobble (V2.05O in particular), but I ran into a problem when I tried to start it.

This is the first time I've come across an issue like this. I tried redownloading it, and I also tried running V2.04J, but neither changed anything. I'm very new to MAME, and I'm not sure what to do about this. Could I please have some help here?

My computer runs Windows 10, I'm using MAME 0.184, and the romset name is "spuzbobl". (Not sure if the last thing means anything, but there it is if it does)

    Try MAME from http://www.progettosnaps.net/mameui/

then right click on the game in question and hit audit on it, that will tell you exactly what is wrong with it

P.S. chd files must go in a sub folder inside the roms folder, for that one it must be named spuzbobl

you do also require a rom set for that game not just a chd that will be what you are missing though, that we are also missing from the main site

Ok, I've done that now. I looked up the files I needed, and picked up most of them. However, there was still one I was missing.

"spuzbobl : upd78081.655 (8192 bytes) - NOT FOUND - NO GOOD DUMP KNOWN"

The game booted and ran regardless, but the audio was stuttering badly.

EDIT: The game as a whole lags pretty badly actually. How do I fix that?

Those are issues with the core nothing else and MAME has no options to improve emulation except for using a faster CPU to run the games, but sound is one of the issues with that game

I was aware that the music wasn't emulated on that game, but I've seen it run fine on some of the videos I've seen of it.

The lag doesn't make any sense to me though, as I've never had any framerate issues with the games I've been playing.

EDIT: Nevermind that actually. It looks like MAME was running a lot slower because I had some video programs running. It actually runs perfectly fine now. Thanks for the help!

    I've had a similar issue.

So just for clarification spuzbobl.chd will not function on its own? I also need a ROM named spuzbobl.zip?

Are any other files needed? Unfortunately I only have the chd.
